Pastor King did not grow up in a Christian home. It was at the age of 20 that a group of teenagers from a Baptist church in Garland, Texas came by his home and confronted him with the question of where he would spend eternity. After going to their church and hearing the Gospel, he asked Jesus Christ to be his Saviour.  Shortly thereafter; he surrendered to the call to preach and attended Bible college where he met his wife, Jan. After graduation in 1978, they were married and began their ministry together.

Pastor and Jan have been in the ministry for 32 years serving churches throughout the midwest. They have been instrumental in starting two churches and pastoring several established churches. He has a heart to help discouraged pastors and churches. God has used him to preach revivals, Missions Conferences, couples retreats, and youth camps in the United States and several foreign countries.

The Kings have a son Kevin, age 25 and a daughter Kristen, age 22. They are both serving the Lord faithfully in Oklahoma.

Skyline Baptist Church called Pastor King to become their pastor in December of 2009. He assumed the pastorate on February 7, 2010. He is excited about what God has done and will continue to do through the people of Skyline Baptist Church.
