Dear faithful friends, we are happy to report the news on our ministry for May 2010!

On Sunday, May 30, we used our new baptistry for the first time and baptized 5 souls that we led to Christ.  Three adults, one teenager and one young boy.  Interestingly, all but the young boy was won to Christ by using our in-home Bible Study system!  The young boy was saved under the preaching of evangelist Lou Rossi, who visited our church in April.  If you are interested, you can see the baptismal service by going to our church website (
www.gracebaptistchurch.ca) , clicking on the little world-icon (top right) and clicking on May 30.  When the video pops up, move the control ‘slider’ to the far right to see the baptizing.

Do you remember praying for a young unsaved family that began attending our church in April?  The husband’s name is Jamie and, by working through the Bible Studies, he prayed to be saved on Sunday May 23, after the morning service!  His wife Kelli is 2 weeks behind him doing the Bible Study, and we are expecting her to be saved any day now.  Please keep them in your prayers.

An elderly man, who professed to be a Christian, died this month and we held his memorial in our church.  Usually, I preach a compassionate service at these, but this time I felt very pressed in the spirit to preach a harder, ‘in-your-face’ type of sermon, and I’m not sure why the Lord would lead me to do that, except that I could see many sin-hardened people in the audience.  Perhaps I’ll understand it better by and by.

By faith, our church has invited 3 Bible College Students to come here for the 12 weeks of summer and help us to knock doors and minister to people.  One of the 3 is from a Deaf Bible College, which allowed us to change our 8:30am Deaf Service into a 10am Deaf Sunday School Class, and then bring them into the 11am Church Service for interpretation.  By doing this, we picked up another deaf person right away!  We have also begun teaching Sign Language to many of our hearing people with the desire and prayer that, by September, one of our deaf men can continue the Sunday School Class, and one of our hearing can continue the interpreting service.  Could you please pray for us, for God’s wisdom and blessing?

Finally, please continue praying for a young teenage girl named Kezzi who needs to be born-again and re-united with her family.  She may be living in China this summer with her biological father, who is (in my opinion) not the best influence in her life.  Please pray for Kezzi to be saved.

Thanks for all your love and faithful prayer-support of this ministry.  May the Lord bless you for it!
